Grapefruit Diet is a fad diet that tells you to consume as much as grapefruits in breakfast, dinner and lunch. This plan is perfect for people with overweight and looking to reduce lots of pounds. If you follow this diet plan without failure, it is possible to reduce 52 pounds within this two and a half month's time.

Drawbacks:

Grapefruit is considered as a healthy fruit with no fat presence. This fruit is rich in vitamin C and contains beta-carotene that can act as antioxidant, a small volume of sodium and some fiber content. But, most of the nutritionists recommend avoiding this kind of fad diet because a fruit based diet is nutritionally unstable. This diet is capable to diminish the total calorie intake. However, it cannot provide sufficient amount of nutrients required for the body. According to experts, a balanced diet is required to provide all the nutrients essential for the good health of the body. A recent study also reported that taking too much grapefruit may lead to diarrhea. It is best if you avoid the grapefruit diet all together.
