What is the Apple Cider Vinegar Diet?

Apple Cider Vinegar is a tonic made by fermenting the juice of an apple. The apple is first crushed and then the juice is squeezed out. After adding yeast and sugar, the fermentation process occurs. In the second process certain bacteria are added to the juice and acetic acid is formed.Apple Cider

When we are analyzing the history we can see that Apple Cider Vinegar has been used for many hundreds of years as a health tonic. Suppliers of the tonic claim that it will cure migraine headaches, chronic fatigue, arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure and many other ailments. There are a large number of health food manufacturers who advertise this vinegar as a "miracle" healer. The bad truth is that there is very little confirmation to prove any of these unreliable claims. A nutritional breakdown of Apple Cider Vinegar demonstrates that it is actually quite "bland" - rather than being the dietary "storehouse" that marketers claim.

The studies have showed that Apple Cider Vinegar is a mixture of ninety different substances including thirteen types of carbolic acids, twenty types of ketones, eight types of ethyl acetates, eighteen types of alcohols, four types of aldehydes etc. It also contains minerals like Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium, Phosphorous, Sodium, Iron, Sulfur, Chlorine, Copper, Fluorine, Silicon, etc. There are Vitamins like Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Provitamin beta-carotene etc. along with enzymes, potash and apple pectin, a dietary fiber.

What are the benefits of the apple cider vinegar diet?

There are many advantages of apple cider vinegar diet. Smooth metabolism functioning, regulation of the cell water content in body, reduction in cholesterol level, assistance in maintenance of body temperature, assistance in regulation of blood pressure, smooth functioning of circulatory system, etc. are some of the benefits from apple cider vinegar diet. The main benefits from this diet are following.

1. Apple Pectin present in the Apple Cider Vinegar is chiefly a water soluble dietary fiber which absorbs the fats and cholesterol and then excretes it outside thus helps reducing Cholesterol level.

2. Apple pectin, the dietary fiber also helps in absorption of glucose, thus reducing extra amount of glucose and prevents diabetes.

3. It has been described that apple cider vinegar has a positive control on the patients suffering from Arthritis.

4. The potassium present in apple cider vinegar is believed to be beneficial to both the heart and blood pressure.

5. Apple cider vinegar helps to rebalance the pH of the body.

6. Apple Cider Vinegar can be useful in the treatments of yeast infections like Candida caused by the unbalance of acid levels in the body.

7. Apple cider vinegar is used in assisting liver to detoxify the toxins and in helping in the digestion of rich, fatty foods, and for proper metabolizing of proteins, fats and minerals into the required byproducts.

What are the disadvantages?

Although apple cider vinegar has quite a lot of useful application and benefits, but there are several risks or disadvantages connected with the use of apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is very insensitive due to the presence of acetic acid and hence needs to be diluted before use. Use of apple cider vinegar for a long time can lead to lower potassium levels and lower bone density. In case you are on medication for any heart problems or diabetes, you should know that apple cider vinegar could interfere with the medicines and hinder their effect, and hence you need to discuss with your physician before using apple cider vinegar in any way be it topical application or direct consumption. Commercially produced apple cider vinegar can include other damaging ingredients, which might have an adverse effect, and hence it is difficult to find pure and safe variety of apple cider vinegar.

What is a sample apple cider vinegar meal plan?

The diet or modules of eating is divided into seven days, and can be repeated indefinitely. You need not follow day 1 with day 2, but can decide your own pattern of days. Do however not eat meals from different days in one day - the diet was planned with specific meals per day, with due reference and consideration of content and ingredients. When using the recipes included try to stick to them as closely as possible in the beginning and only when you have reached your desired goal, start experimenting by adding other ingredients.

5. How much does it cost?

Does it work?

Apple cider vinegar is supposed to not only burn fat but suppress the appetite. It is suggested that you take one to three teaspoons of apple cider vinegar before each mealtime. These supplements may also be safer for some people, especially those with sensitive stomachs. Apple cider vinegar is acidic so it can damage the teeth enamel and irritate the throat and stomach. As part of the apple cider vinegar diet you also need to eat moderately and exercise.

While its efficacy as a weight-loss aide is questionable, and while no scientific studies hold up the use of apple cider vinegar for weight maintenance or weight reduction, many still continue to believe that apple cider vinegar prevents weight gain by aiding digestion, speeding gastric emptying, and aiding in energy release. Again, no definite evidence has emerged to carry the claim that apple cider vinegar is effective for weight management. Its role in weight management is still not known.
